DID YOU KNOW?

The School District of Hartford Jt. # 1 contracts with Wittenberger Bus Service to transport 885 children to and from school daily;  logging an average of 1080 miles per day.  There are 12 regular routes and 6 special routes.  The District also provides transportation for field trips, extracurricular activities and special events.  When combining the totals, 2019 students are transported yearly driving over 200,000 miles.

VIDEO CAMERAS

The School Board has approved the use of video cameras on school buses for the primary purose of ensuring health and safety of bus riders.  If problems develop in the areas of students misconduct, disciplinary problems or vandalism, the school principals in conjustion with bus personnel will determine the need for video cameras.

 SCHEDULING

Students will only be transported by school bus to school and to a regular pick up or drop off location.  It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to inform the School District and Wittenberger Bus Service of the regular pick up or drop off locations.

Students living in the City of Hartford will not be transported by school bus from school to a babysitter's home outside the City limits or to another part of the City, or from a babysitter's residence to school.

BUS CONDUCT

  • Stay in your seat at all times.
  • Keep all parts of your body amd all objects inside the bus at all times.
  • No littering, eating or drinking.  Keep the bus safe and clean at all times.
  • Keep books, packages, insterments and coats out of the bus aisle.
  • Do not tamper with or vandalize other riders' property or any bus equipment.  Parents will be held responsible for damage caused by a child.
  • Keep a conversational voice.  Do not scream, swear or use disrespectful or abusive language.
  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself; no hitting, pushing, tripping or spitting.  Physical abuse and fighting will not be tolerated.
  • No pushing or shoving when entering or exiting the bus.
  • Follow the driver's directions the first time they are given.
  • In general, conduct yourself in a safe manner and do not endanger the safety and well-being of others on the bus.

When Students violate the bus riders rules and regulations, disciplinary measures will be taken.

Routes are listed for all of Hartford Joint #1 routes.  If you are new to the area, please read the routes over carefully and pick the one that is closest to your home.  You should be able to figure out approximate time from this listing.  If the bus goes past your home make sure your student is standing out at the end of your driveway plenty of time before your bus is scheduled to come by.  If the bus doesn't go past your home, please go to one of the scheduled stops so we don't miss you.

Routes will travel the same direction throughout the school year.  If your child will not require bus transportation, please contact Wittenberger Bus Service at (673-3777) or info@wittenbergerbus.com.  If your child lives within the City of Hartford and you desire bus transportation, please contact Wittenberger Bus Service.  (There ia charge for City Bus service). 

Route names and animals or colors will be posted in the bus windows.

*********Important Changes *********

Rossman Students in the Park Knoll Subdivsion, Prairie Crossing Subdivsion, and Settlement Ridge Subdivision are now considered within the walking area to Rossman School. Rossman students will need to purchase ride tickets, for each ride recieved. The AM Route has changed. The following route will pickup only Rossman Students. Some changes have been made to the Rettler Farm and Park Knoll Route, please check below.

Bus # 31 will pick up Rossman pay students: First pickup @ 7:40 @ Broadmoore and Foxtail, Foxtail to Woodruff, right on Broadmoore, left on Park Knoll, left on Cleveland, right on Center St., right on St. Kilian Parkway, to Abbott Ave, Wacker and Prospect. To Rossman School.

P.M. Early Drop Offs Before Central Pick Ups

Rossman P.M. Buses

1) Toland Route-27- Bear Bus: will take students to Riverbend Dr. and students to Central for the North East Route (Orange)

 2) Rettler Farm Route--Turtle Bus: will take students directly to Rettler Farms and make drop offs along Wacker Dr., Falcon Dr., and Cleveland Ave. Then to Central

3) Pleasant Hill Route - Duck: will take students directly to Settlement Ridge Subdivision. Drop will be at Settlement Rd. and Center St., Settlement Rd. and St. Kilian Pkwy. Then will travel Grand Ave. for drop offs. Then to Central

4) Borlen Farm Route -44 - Green Bus: will take students to Park Knoll and Prairie Crossing. Drops will be at Park Knoll and Cleveland, Broadmoore and Woodruff, Woodruff and Foxtail, Foxtail and Broadmoore. Then to Central

5) City Route -38 - Cat: Will travel to High Street, Forest Ave., Rossman St., State St., Rural St., Loos St. for Child's Place, Cedar St. to Central. Pike Lake (Whale) should ride down to Central

 Lincoln P.M. Buses

1) Central City Route -111- Purple: Will take students directly to Summer Wind Subdivision, and Chapel Hill. Then to Central

2) Holy Hill Route -20- Dinosaur: Will take students directly to Monroe Ave & Wheelock, Simon Drive to Patton Drive and drop off at Happy Hollow. Hawthorne Lane. Then to Central

3) North Route -26- Pink: Will take transfter students from Lincoln to Central School.


North-East Route (Orange) 23

 First stop 7:20 a.m. Hwy 83 North to Clover, east to Ernst Dr., return to Clover, east to Badger, south to Sunrise Ct., turn around and return to Clover, east to Kettle Moraine, then south to 3727, turn around & return to Hilldale Dr., west to Serenity, turn around at Wilderness & return to Hilldale, south to Briarwood and Honeysuckle Subdivision. A.M. bus drops at Central, Lincoln, and Rossman School. P.M. bus starts from Central School.  Rossman Students ride the Bear bus to Central.


 North Route (Pink) 26

First stop 7:25 a.m. North Main St. north to Arthur Rd., east to Hwy 83, north to Hwy K, travel west and turn around, return to Hwy 83, south to Arthur, east to Bramblewood Subdivsion, turn around and return to Hwy 83, south to Mueller Dr. A.M. to Central and Rossman School. P.M. bus starts from Rossman.


Park Knoll Route (Monkey) 33

First stop 7:35 a.m. on Hwy N  North on airport, west on Cleveland, north on Oriole, east on Wacker, east on Cleveland, north on Park Knoll, east on Broadmoore, north on Foxtail, return to Wacker Dr. South to Western Hills. A.M. to Central. P.M. route starts from Central. Rossman students should ride (Green Bus) directly to Park Knoll & Prairie Crossing.

CENTRAL STUDENTS ON ORIOLE DRIVE  WILL RIDE THE RETTLER FARM ROUTE IN THE PM.


Pike Lake Route (Whale) 39

First stop 7:20 a.m. Hwy 60 East to Teri. South on Teri, to Zuern Dr.,  Lakeview, and to Lake Dr., to Second St. and to High Street, and return to Hwy 60. East to Otto Drive, North into Kissel Subdivision. Go to White Eagle Ct., turn around and take Wayside Dr. back to Hwy 60. Hwy 60 west around the Clinic, south on Hilldale Dr. & return to Hwy 60 west, south on K, east on Monroe to Hawthorne Dr. Turn around @ end and return to Monroe.  A.M. to Central and Rossman School. P.M. route starts from Central, Rossman students should ride (Cat Bus) down to Central.

 

 


Borlen Farms (Green) 44

 First stop 7:35 At Wacker Dr. & Bridlewood, North on u, east on Turtle, south on K,  east on Pleasant Run, enter into Borlen Farms, south on Big Ben, follow through subdivsion, and return out to Hwy K south.

A.M. Stops @ Main & Prospect & Main & Rossman for Central School.             P.M. stops @ Main & High St. & Main & Prospect for Central students.           

P.M. Rossman students will ride bus directly to Park Knoll & Prairie Crossing.


Settlement Ridge (Frog)

First stop 7:40 a.m. Abbott Ave., and Elm St., East on St. Kilian Pkwy., west on Settlement Rd., north on Center St., east on Partridge, south on Hwy K.  A.M. to Central and Rossman School. P.M. route starts from Central. Rossman students should ride (Duck Bus) directly to Settlement Ridge.

 


South-East Route (Dog)

First stop 7:20 a.m. Eagle Point Rd., south on Hwy, K, east on E to Rolaine Park Subdivision, return to K, to Hwy E, west on E, south on Hall Rd., to Druid Lake Rd, and to 83. North on 83, east on E, north on Hall Rd., North on K. To Happy Hollow Day Care, and Simon Subdivsion. A.M.to Central School, to Riverbend, to Rossman School. P.M. Route starts from Central. Rossman students ride (Pink Bus) to Central


Toland Route (Bear) 27

First stop 7:18 a.m. on Cherry Rd., east on Filmore, south on Resthaven, east on Rolephson, turn around @ Bluebird Bay & return to Resthaven south. Harding Rd. to Hwy. O, to Roosevelt, to Erin Rd. South on Erin, turn around & return to Roosevelt, west to Washington Rd., & return to Hwy O, east to 83, north to Lee Rd. to Hillcrest subdivsion. A.M. to Central & Lincoln School. 

 


 Rettler Farms (Turtle)

First stop 7:35 a.m. Wacker Dr. and Cardinal, West on Wacker Dr., south on Falcon Dr., east on Cleveland Ave. Stops at all intersections. A.M. to Central & Rossman. P.M. Rossman students ride directly to Rettler Farms.

ORIOLE AND CLEVELAND AND ORIOLE & WACKER WILL RIDE THE PARK KNOLL ROUTE IN THE AM,

 


 Pleasant Hill (Duck)

First stop 7:15 Pond Rd. West on Pond, south on Taylor, east on Waterford, north on Elmwood, east on Lee, north on 83, east on Monroe, to Summer Wind Subdivision & return to Monroe, east to Chapel Hill Subdivison. A.M. to Central, Lincoln & Rossman.  P.M. route begins at Rossman, and goes directly to Settlement Ridge, to Grand Ave. then to Central.

 


 Holy Hill Route (Dinosaur) 20

First stop 7:20 a.m.on Powder Hill Rd. West on Powder Hill, west on Waterford, north on Kettle Moraine, turn around at Court, & return to Waterford. South on K, east on Pleasant Hill, south on CC, west on Shannon, north on K to Log House & return to K north. West on E, north on 83 to Meadow Lane.  To Central School. Lincoln students transfer to (Cat Bus).  P.M. route starts from Lincoln & goes directly to Chapel Hill and Happy Hollow, the to Central.

City children will get picked up at corners along the routes that are listed.  They will not receive door to door service.

City Routes

(For students living within the city limits, that are not on a Transfer Route)                See Rossman and Lincoln City Route Listed Below.

All students riding the city bus are required to have a transportation ticket.  (Except those in the old Rossman Transfer Route Area) Students without tickets will be denied transportation.  Tickets mat be purchased at Wittenberger Bus Service, 511 Wacker Dr. or by mail at P.O. Box 270352, or directly from there bus driver. 

  • Ticket prices are as follows:
  • 360 tickets - $270.00
  • 100 tickets - $80.00
  •   40 tickets - $34.00
  •   20 tickets - $18.00
  • or a single ride is $1.50
  • Tickets will only be sold in quantities of 20's

EACH RIDE REQUIRES ONE TICKET, or $1.50.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ON TICKETS AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

Rossman & Lincoln City Route (Yellow)

First stop 7:35 Grand Ave. South on Grand, east on Loos, south on Misty Meadows, east on Lincoln, south on Timberline Trail, west on Monroe, north on Grand / Branch, west on Loos, north on Summit, east on Root, north on Cedar, east on 60, north on Rural, west on State, to Rossman, south on Forest, east on High, north on Main. To Rossman School, then to Lincoln. A.M. route only. P.M. students ride the (Cat Bus).

First stop 7:20 On Cedar St. @ Fairview, north on Cedar, east on Monroe, north on Timberline Trail, west on Lincoln, north on Wheelock, west on Loos, north on Main, west on Sumner, north on Grant to State St. and High St. dropping off at St. Kilian School. North on Center to Peace Lutheran School. Prospect west, to Elm St., Rossman, and Forest St.  East on State, south on Rural, west on Root, south on Cedar to Central School.

Central East Route (AM ONLY)

First stop 7:43 a.m. @ Riverbend & Wilson Ave., west on Union with stops @ 8th, 6th, 4th, 2nd, and Main St., south on Main and to Central School.

Central West Route (AM Only)

Central students in the area of High, Forest, Elm & Rossman will ride the Central city route a.m. @ no charge. Central students along Main Street will ride the Borlen Farms Route to school @ no charge. (See Route descriptions Above).

Central City (PURPLE PM ONLY)

Riverbend & Wilson, Union @ 8th, 6th, 4th, 2nd, & Main, north on Main, west on Prospect, to Forest, Rossman & State.
